“ One book, one pen, and one Teacher can change the whole world.”
Nurturing those little minds with all the love and care is not an easy task. It takes a lot of patience and virtue. Teachers are the ones who take care of and nurture the little growing minds. Teachers are the guide that guards the children in the dark tunnel-like lights. They hold our hands and take us toward the treasure of knowledge that ultimately decides the path our lives will take. There is no doubt that this profession is noble and deserves an equal amount of importance as the others. As Teachers work day and night imparting knowledge to the future progeny who are also the future of the country. Teachers mold a child with all the good qualities just as the potter molds a pot. So, a day is dedicated to these wonderful human beings to appreciate and acknowledge their hard work. Even though it is known that dedicating just a day to teachers is not enough but all the students try to express their gratitude and respect for their Teachers by sending Teacher's Day gifts.
The day is celebrated in every country on different dates but the essence is still to celebrate and cherish Teachers and their constant efforts. In India, it is celebrated on the 5th of September the birthday of the first Vice President of Independent India. Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was a scholar, philosopher, and Bharat Ratna recipient. He inspired many and was loved by all. His approach to education was unique and developed. To cherish and celebrate his life, work, and achievements the day Teacher’s Day was organized.
The primary idea actually was to celebrate his birthday, some of his students sought to him to ask for permission. But as he did not like any celebrations he did allow them to do so, then the idea to celebrate a day dedicated to only teachers was born. Thus, to date, the day is celebrated solemnly to appreciate the efforts of Teachers and express the gratitude of students.
Teachers’ Day has become a day that is looked forward to by the Teachers as well as the students. The students prepare for this day with much vim and vigor. It is not only about gifts but the joy and smiles that it brings with it. The students prepare much for the students from dance performances to surprise celebrations. The Teachers are recognized for their hard work by their students.
You can also go down memory lane and send gifts to the teachers who inspired you when you were a budding star. We all have a teacher in our lives who has inspired us to do better to become better versions of ourselves. It is the time of the year when we cherish Teachers like them and express our gratitude. While we are busy expressing our gratitude to our Teachers let’s not forget to wish our Mothers on this day, as she has been the first Teacher we all had in our lives.
