About Sujanpur
Sujanpur is a City and municipal council in District Pathankot in the Indian state of Punjab, India. It is 10Km from Pathankot towards Jammu on Jalandhar-Jammu-Amritsar National Highway (NH-1A). It is situated near the banks of Ravi river, and surrounded by two canals: UBDC and Bias Link. The Municipal Council Sujanpur city area is divided into 15 wards for which elections are held every 5 years. As of 2015 India census, Sujanpur has a population of approx 50,000. & According to the census, Sujanpur second most populous and Largest urban-area (शहरी क्षेत्र) in the district after Pathankot urban. It has a large garment market, which is popular in its vicinity. There are many international schools around the town. It was famous for Chief Justice Beas misran. The Basant panchmi is the best known festival for the people of Sujanpur.
