About Dombivli
Dombivli is a city in the Thane District of Maharashtra state. The population of the Dombivli City at the 2011 census counted to 1,246,381. Dombivli's history dates back to the medieval period and no major archaeological evidence of its early habitation have been found. The Khidkaleshwar Temple located at Shil-phata Road, dedicated to Lord Shiva was built by the Pandavas during their Aranyavasam. Shree Ganesh Temple is situated in Dombivli east, in between Dombivli-Thakurli railway station. Dombivli city is a pioneer of Gudi Padwa Shobha yatra where all religious people are involved in this yatra, it's a pride of Dombivli. Dombivli is served by Mumbai Suburban Railway network, i.e. it lies on the mainline of the central section of Mumbai suburban railway network. Constructed in 1886, it is one of the busiest stations on the Central line and serves a footfall of more than 300 thousand commuters daily.
