Bethamcherla is a census town and mandal headquarters located in Kurnool District of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government aided and private schools, under the School Education Department of the state. The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu. Bethamcherla comes under Dhone assembly constituency and Nandyal Parliament Constituency. As of the 2011 census, the town had a population of 38,994.
