Rakesh Bedi passed out from F.T.I.I. (film and television institute of India) Pune and since then he has been actively pursuing a career in Films T.V. and Theatre constantly. There are very few actors who have been equally active on all these three fronts simultaneously for such a long time. Rakesh Bedi has done more than 250 films, numerous T.V. shows, and a number of plays. He joined the legendary theatre group I.P.T.A. (Indian people’s theatre association) and has been actively working with them ever since. He was the general secretary of I.P.T.A. for four years. I.P.T.A. celebrated its 75th year by performing 14 plays in 7 days under his leadership from 1st to 7th May at Prithvi theatre in Mumbai. Rakesh Bedi was conferred upon with an honorary doctorate in Sept 2017 by Victoria Global University for his contribution to the art of acting. Rakesh Bedi wrote and directed the hilarious play "BIWI O BIWI" which is based on woman empowerment. It depicts how a modern educated housewife cannot be taken for granted and definitely can't be treated like a doormat. If she wants, she can surely bring her husband on to his knees. Rakesh Bedi wrote and directed the play "Simla Coffee House”, a psycho comic thriller.
